about key holders
Being chosen as a Keyholder is a meaningful honor. It means someone trusts you to help protect and carry out their wishes after they die. A Keyholder is a person selected to help confirm a passing so that the messages, memories, and legacy materials someone prepared can be released as intended. You are not being asked to carry everything. You are being trusted to help open the door when the time comes, with care, dignity, and love.

If the person has passed, you will go into your own personal Death Message account and select Key Manager. From there, you will look for their profile and begin the verification process.

Inside Key Manager, you will locate the person who selected you and submit their death certificate for review. This begins the verification process with the Death Message team.
-
Once the death certificate is submitted, our admin team will manually review it. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for verification and approval.
